Pioneer’s goal with the AVIC-U310BT, the entry-level model in its AVIC in-dash navigation line, was to meet the three key needs: GPS navigation, digital audio playback and Bluetooth hands-free speakerphone.
Design
At the top of the most solid front panel is a single CD slot. Performance

The system is fed by Parrot hardware, including a noise-canceling microphone that, when mounted near the driver’s head, delivers crystal clear voice quality. During our test calls at highway speeds, we received no complaints about street noise or echo.
We have only two minor complaints about the way the U310BT handles calls. First, the speakerphone volume is set separately from the audio playback volume via a touch-screen button instead of the spinning intuitive volume control. Second, entry of a call not pause audio playback, but it just dumb. So, if you listen to a podcast and a call comes, you will miss all the content that happens for the duration of the call and rewind.
Audio playback from Pioneer 14 Watt x 4-channel amplifier (50W x 4 max) can be set with a three-band EQ with three levels of loudness, and a bass booster function. High-pass filter for the internal amplifier and low pass filter for subwoofer output can be both from the device, the interface to be adjusted. Each audio source can be a level adjustment value for the consistent volume control mapped between audio sources. After connecting an iPod or digital media source, users must wait for the U310BT until the device that can read and take a few seconds. After the initial loading, the navigation of digital media libraries is relatively fast, with few breaks here and there.
A minor annoyance that we ran into during our tests is that there is no central place to customize the settings U310BT. The navigation menu has its own touch-screen-based menu settings, like the telephone system. The audio controls are on a separate screen and are accessed and navigated entirely with the knob. Finally, more esoteric settings can just remove the front panel, connecting to a PC, and adjusting the settings with the AVIC-feed software to access. Even some of the settings never took place. For example, by default, the unit’s button illumination color to set by a spectrum of colors, but we were able to get the device to stop cycling, although the AVIC-feed software has an RGB setting for a fixed lighting color.

Summary
Overall, the AVIC-U310BT is a very easy way for most entry-level users all of the cabin tech they need to add a field. With a MSRP of $ 700, it is also one of the best ways to do this. The Design Pioneer deserves extra points for the removable front panel, the input driven us to our destinations, leave the comfort of our home, rather than in a car in neutral. We also like the Pioneer all-in-one concept, but had to dock a few points for the interface design of the lack of integration. For example, the number of menus have been particularly frustrating.
