The Garmin RINO series is a long time member of the Garmin line up that takes their core GPS capability and extends it by addressing the needs of consumers in the field. GPS answers the “Where are you” question and help out where you go, but if you’re outside you want to know where your friends.

Given the current state of the economy, not everyone has the budget to spring for a GPS device. Fortunately, revised last fall its two entry-level Garmin n is in the 200 series and the midlevel offering in the 700 series. I glanced at the Garmin nuvi 755T, to check to include some of the new features that Lane Assist, 3D buildings and photo navigation. And since Garmin story, it is not surprising that its entry-level n is how the nuvi 265T, offer a lot for your money and are an excellent choice for the budget conscious.

The 265T measures 2.8 by 3.8 by 0.8 inches (HWD) and features a 3.5-inch, 320-by-240 pixel screen. For an additional $ 50, you can opt for the nuvi 265W, a 4.3-inch WQVGA 480-has-272-pixel screen. (All other software functions the same on both models.)

The first difference you’ll notice between the 265T and 755T, is the holder. The mid-range products, all with a holder, the power of the devices. It is easy to snap these devices in and out of the bracket with one hand. The entry-level products such as the 265T have a simple clip that snaps onto the device. The 265T gets power, and transport data over a USB connection, plug into the back of the unit. The 200-series Garmin Locate missing also included a feature in the 700-series models, which remembers your last known position when the unit from the holder.

Both the 265T and 265WT have Garmin’s familiar “Where am I” and “View Map” interface. This weekend I had the Edge 305 in action and I must say, I’m not sure that the Edge 305 is worth the price, especially when compared to the svelte and economical Edge 205.

To this short review, I will not warm up again the properties of the 305 shares with the 205, I I have a pretty good job for the Edge 205 already think. The Edge 305 packaging reminds me of the “cube” box the iPod comes in and looks way more “pro” packing than the plastic screen which was 205 (and includes water bottle) in. The set-up I bought came with a heart rate monitor, wireless cadence, speedometer and additional tie for the 2 mentioned mounted bicycle (curiously, the saved 205 additional cable ties). You can use different combinations of these accessories with your Edge 305 but this seems to be the most common bundle.

Mountain biking is not much use for the cadence sensor and to be honest, I’m not sure I will even bother installing on my road bike. The same applies to the speedometer, the GPS speedometer seems accurate enough for me – plus I’ve never had much luck with wireless wheel sensors on mountain bikes.
